We are constantly looking for ways to improve Datasnipper, and we believe that the best way to do this is by listening to our users. We would love to hear your ideas and suggestions for how we can make the product even better.

  1. Automatically apply OCR should automatically run OCR on all documents, not only those that have no text layer

    The automatically Apply OCR run only when there is no text detected in the document. By default, if there is text detected, it wont run.

    I would prefer an option to automatically run OCR on all imported documents, irrespective of their initial status.

  2. Chop (stamp) recognition

    Chops (stamps) are an important element of document authenticity which may be on top of other text within a document. It would be great if the text on the stamp could be differentiated from the underlying text.

  3. Redaction interacting with visible text

    Redaction cut off portion of the word and therefore the rest of the word could not be snipped.

  4. extract absolute vallues

    It would be beneficial if there was a way to automatically abstract an absolute value (i.e., turning -5,000 into 5,000) utilizing a text snip or a sum snip.

  5. Excel reference to snipped cell

    Relevant for all snips:
    Currently if I direct reference to a cell that has snip, the reference will also link.
    if I however indirect reference (i.e. using a VLOOKUP formula to return data or embedded a formula in an IFERROR formula), then the cell contents are transfered but reference is not linked.

    It would be nice if this was also linked.
