  2. The automatically Apply OCR run only when there is no text detected in the document. By default, if there is text detected, it wont run.

    I would prefer an option to automatically run OCR on all imported documents, irrespective of their initial status.

  3. Problem statement: Sometimes when DataSnipper places snips the text is longer than the column width is sized for, this results in lack of readability and excel displays ####, the user must then manually resize columns (using ALT + OCA or Double clicking the headers).

    Solution Suggestion: Can DataSnipper programatically resize the column width to automatically show all data when its snipped?

  4. Automatically compressing documents on import. Default or optional setting. Perhaps a pop up when threashold is reached giving you the option to compress then. Clients cannot easily find or even know that compressing is an option

  5. Bestanden slepen naar Excel om het in Datasnipper te krijgen. Om bestanden in Datasnipper te importen moeten bestanden nu eerst lokaal worden opgeslagen of worden gekopieerd.

    Drag files to import is available in the Document Organizer. This is a drag functionality from local storage however the drag functionality from other locations would require further integrations to be built. Integrations are in research. If you have a specific platform that you would like to drag files into DataSnipper from, please let us know so that we can investigate further.

  6. Amend the DM algorithm to prioritize matches based on a logical understanding of the documents as opposed to simply limiting the distance between snips. i.e. DM should know to extract the value from the numbers in the document, not at the end of the tax identification number.

  7. It would be helpful if you could enter which exchange rate Datasnipper should use and then convert and match the values yourself. For example, we receive reporting packages in foreign currencies and the exchange rates used in each case. If you want to check the conversion, you have to do this manually. Datasnipper could automate this.

  8. Working with signatures and verifying that a document is signed is always a key part of audit procedures however given that there is a mix of wet and e-signatures it can be complicated to actually understand if your document has been validated.

    Signatures are never recognised by OCR given their "hieroglyphic" nature and therefore it is difficult for automated systems to recognise them.

    With the signature snip, users could perform multiple actions:

    • Apply an esignature to a document.
    • Verify a wet signature for IPE purposes
    • Check that an esignature is included.

  9. It would be nice to have the feature to remove all Files/Documents without snips not only all pages without snips. So the documents with snips stay in excel as a whole and the the documents not needed can be deleted easily

    The functionality is currently achievable via the Document Organizer. Sort all documents by snips, select documents without snips and remove.


    Upcoming UI improvements will hopefully make this even easier.

  10. Compare 2 user lists to identify changes (new users added, users removed, changes in user roles). User list files are pdf, txt, excel.

    A current solution would be to extract both lists into excel and then perform the analysis using excel functionality.

  11. Request coming from financial control departments: next to having document matching, I'd love to have a plug in that can also automatically extract the documents related to the selected samples from the ERP system

  12. Internal audit client feedback:

    When copying over tables with Snips in it, the reference is also copied over. And it was time consuming to remove the reference. (Client only wishes to copy the table format & functions, not the reference.)

    Currently if you paste via the right click option you can achieve a paste without the snip.

  13. Can you add an 'if.. then' functionality in Form extraction? This is especially useful for the extract multiple lines per row option, for example IF the bank transaction has a description, THEN extract the description and if not, don't extract the data. Currently you risk having other data in the description column even if it is actually not a description. (this could also be fixed by being able to extract multiple keys for the extract multiple lines per row option).

  14. OCR - Punctuation standardisation - apostrophes & quote marks

    When running OCR on documents depending on font some punctuation, particularly apostrophes & quote marks, come out differently e.g. Group's vs. Group’s.

    This causes issues when using the financial statement suite & version compare features in particular as a lot false changes get flagged which muddy the waters significantly. If logic can be built in so the characters used for apostrophes & quote marks are consistent across the board that would be ideal, I think this setting would be best as the default and having an option to switch back to…

  16. Enhancing the ability within Document Matching step 3 to limit the amount threshold in a certain direction. For example in Step 3, I would like to add an Amount threshold for an input of GL Date Recorded to look for values after +3 days of input date. This would be helpful in SURL and AP testing in TODs.

  17. When people use table snip it snips all the tables into the cells but the user has to then manually adjust the rows and columns and even if its the Excel shortcuts that save time like (alt+h+o+a and alt+h+o+i) it still takes time.

    What if when users use table snip we automatically adjust the rows and columns to the right size?

    Would that be helpful for users and would it be possible on the product/development side?

    This has been deferred as as aim to force a change to excel's functionality as far as possible. Automatically resizing columns and rows for a user may not be desired in all scenarios (i.e. if there are other data points outside of the table range with different column and row dimensions.

  18. Users spend a lot of time building PBC request lists when a lot of this information is already contained in prior year workpapers, sometimes you have examples from proforma clients or other templates which you would want to share with your client.

    The request snip could allow users to snip a document or a table of sample items in a workpaper and then automatically populate and send the request through the relevant PBC portal.

  19. allow for the ability to import subfolders when dragging & dropping files/folders into Document Organizer.

    many times, firms/clients will organize an audit by having many subfolders within one folder. Currently, the subfolder formatting does not carry over.

    The current implementation allows all documents within each folder to be imported (the highest level folder will be replicated within DataSnipper but all documents within subfolders will be imported into that 1 folder).

  20. Add possibility to switch between different OCR servers. The reason for this request is for service delivery centers that work for different countries and therefore want to switch between OCR servers to stay compliant with data regulations.
