  2. Would be great if our tool supports languages besides English on a UI level. Getting push back from prospects in Taiwan & Korea (Crowe Taiwan, UHY Taiwan & UHY South Korea) as English is not their main language and they find it difficult to navigate a tool that does not support their local language.

  3. Introducing a feature in the DataSnipper (DS) toolbar to add a client ID number or internal reference code could be a valuable enhancement for your clients. This would allow them to easily track which clients they have used DataSnipper on, and which they haven't, thereby improving their ability to manage and analyze their work across different clients.

  4. Ability to create excel sheet templates and store them within DataSnipper.

    Problem: Currently external & internal auditors use templates for completing audit procedures. This requires ecxel templates to be created and maintained within a shared document storage such as Sharepoint. Users will then download the files to their local machine. This leads to templates becoming outdated and also having a lack of insights about the useage of the templates.

    It would be valuable to have an option to create, upload and manage excel templates into DataSnipper. This would allow users to create excel file templates directly from DataSnipper. To ensure…

  5. If a snip is edited after the fact (i.e. change the numbers in a sum snip or change the text in a text snip). It would be great to have a clear indication of this.

  6. When working with lots of documents it can be helpful to create document IDs that can be autogenerated and be put on documents as well. This would be super helpful when documents need to be exported to keep an overview which document belongs to what what cell/line in the excel spreadsheet.
    This is super helpful if the counterpart doesn't use DataSnipper such as tax authorities or private individuals.

  7. Can we consider adding a bar in the document viewer or organizer to monitor the total size of imported documents? It would display how close users are to the recommended 100MB limit, offering a visual guide to help them manage file size, even if they choose to exceed it.

  8. Can we implement a more intuitive method for deleting DM/FE templates, such as using a three dots menu? The current method, which requires a right-click, is not user-friendly. A more straightforward deletion process would simplify template management and reduce user frustration

  9. Problem statement: Sometimes when DataSnipper places snips the text is longer than the column width is sized for, this results in lack of readability and excel displays ####, the user must then manually resize columns (using ALT + OCA or Double clicking the headers).

    Solution Suggestion: Can DataSnipper programatically resize the column width to automatically show all data when its snipped?

  10. Since DataSnipper now assists in matching samples with relevant supporting documents, it would be great if it could also handle sample size selection, making it a one-stop platform for both selecting and testing samples.

  11. Quick way to insert workpaper reference in PDF

    Request to implement a feature in DataSnipper where users can insert work paper references in PDF in easy and quick way (e.g. one-click of “ref insert” button).

    To elaborate more on this use case:
    For example, when conducting a balance confirmation as part of the audit procedures, all the information (amounts, etc.) stated in the confirmation letter (PDF) collected should be verified and linked to the relevant audit working papers.     With DataSnippers baseline functionality the need to reference is bypassed. The supporting documents are embedded within the working paper directly and the snips create a direct link to the location on the supporting documents which is relevant for the work.

  12. Include a standard snipping tool (like Microsoft's snipping tool) which can be used to snip documents and import directly into excel. Ideally the snip can also be a visual placeholder (before importing) to allow visual review.

    In addition, having the ability to record action steps on a computer with clear points of reference for process capturing.

  14. Applying redact text can be more intuitive. A pop up window should appear after creating the redacted box asking the user if they want to apply it. Right clicking isn't obvious.

  15. My spreadsheet got 10 pdfs and everytime I click a cell with zero, it takes a few sec to search for all zeros in the 10 pdfs. My spreadsheet is almost unusable.

  16. Working with signatures and verifying that a document is signed is always a key part of audit procedures however given that there is a mix of wet and e-signatures it can be complicated to actually understand if your document has been validated.

    Signatures are never recognised by OCR given their "hieroglyphic" nature and therefore it is difficult for automated systems to recognise them.

    With the signature snip, users could perform multiple actions:

    • Apply an esignature to a document.
    • Verify a wet signature for IPE purposes
    • Check that an esignature is included.

  18. It would be nice to have the feature to remove all Files/Documents without snips not only all pages without snips. So the documents with snips stay in excel as a whole and the the documents not needed can be deleted easily

    The functionality is currently achievable via the Document Organizer. Sort all documents by snips, select documents without snips and remove.


    Upcoming UI improvements will hopefully make this even easier.

  19. Compare 2 user lists to identify changes (new users added, users removed, changes in user roles). User list files are pdf, txt, excel.

    A current solution would be to extract both lists into excel and then perform the analysis using excel functionality.

  20. Currently, DataSnipper lacks the functionality to automatically recognize and capture the status of checkboxes within documents. The proposed feature aims to enable DataSnipper to identify checkboxes and classify them as 'True' for checked boxes and 'False' for unchecked ones. This capability would significantly streamline the process of analyzing forms and checklists, reducing manual data entry and increasing accuracy. The addition of this feature would enhance DataSnipper's utility in processing a wider range of document types, particularly those commonly used in surveys, applications, and various compliance forms
