This functionality already exists, you can just make the snip while holding CTRL + SHIFT, we have asked our product marketing team to create a knowledge base article to explain this.

This would be very helpful. When reviewing an Excel with Data Snipper snips, I always have to use format painter to get the format back to the way it was, which is a tedious process. It would be great if DataSnipper snips could be auto-set to match destination formatting.

I had this same idea. I often work in an Excel tab that is fluid, meaning that I add snips to a table in that same tab over time, and it would be really nice if my added snips would keep the same formatting as the prior rows and cells have - i.e., same dollar format, date.
