  1. Before archiving workpapers in the audit file, the end-user might be required to remove any imported documents using DataSnipper. The necessity of removing documents is dependent on the firms documentation requirements.

    Currently it is time-consuming to go through all the excel workbooks and remove imported documents. Can a feature be developed which
    1. identifies workbooks in a selected folder that have Imported Documents
    2. Provides an option for the end-user to bulk remove imported documents

  2. When importing a powerpoint file (which is a not supported file type by DS), user gets notification 'Document not imported. You have already imported these into DataSnipper'. This is misleading as it looks like the document is already imported (which is not the case). Instead of this notification, can we change the notification to 'File type not supported, try printing it to pdf before importing the document instead'. Or something similar :)

  3. OCR - Punctuation standardisation - apostrophes & quote marks

    When running OCR on documents depending on font some punctuation, particularly apostrophes & quote marks, come out differently e.g. Group's vs. Group’s.

    This causes issues when using the financial statement suite & version compare features in particular as a lot false changes get flagged which muddy the waters significantly. If logic can be built in so the characters used for apostrophes & quote marks are consistent across the board that would be ideal, I think this setting would be best as the default and having an option to switch back to…

  5. In the Document Organizer, I'd like to be able to use the Filter field on the file "Status" to select documents. For example: to apply OCR to all files that have "Status" of Contains Text or to select all files that imported corrupted to remove those files in bulk.

  7. AI Form grouping

    If AI could be utilised to group documents into folders it thinks are formatted the same and would work under form extraction well. If it could just do it over the whole selection of documents or if you could pick one as an example to find matches against that could be helpful when clients don't provide files in an organised format

  8. Clients often find it more convenient to share the work performed in a single, easily distributable PDF format when collaborating with colleagues or external reviewers who do not have DataSnipper installed, rather than dealing with multiple PDFs.

  9. When documents are embedded in word, it is possible to drag & drop them to file explorer. It is not yet possible to drag & drop documents to the organizer. This is very relevant in the transition from documenting in word to documenting in excel.

  11. allow for the ability to import subfolders when dragging & dropping files/folders into Document Organizer.

    many times, firms/clients will organize an audit by having many subfolders within one folder. Currently, the subfolder formatting does not carry over.

  12. I wish that I could copy the folders and/or specified contents of the folders into a new folder within the Document Organizer so that I could compile one folder to follow ups for client. Using "Remove all pages without exception snip" is a great tool to consolidate only the pages that need follow ups.. but sometimes I dont want to delete the rest of the document. If you could copy files into a separate folder and then export that folder just to provide the client the exceptions, I could see alot more testing relying on DS ++ expanded functionality for…

  13. Regarding importing other Excel workbooks into DataSnipper:

    It'd be much easier for the users if the tab name was listed first (instead of the workbook name), so the users can easily see which tab they are clicking into.

    Also, it'd be preferred if the workbook tabs would be imported in the order they were originally in, instead of alphabetical order

I like the new functionality in folders and moving documents from one folder to the next, but it would be nice to have the ability to do this directly from the Document Viewer screen in addition to, say, the "Organize" folder. For example, if I am working in ten different PDF files and adding snips to one file at a time, it would be nice to move an imported document to, say, a "Done snipping" folder. And as far as I know, I cannot do that directly from the Document Viewer screen.

  15. Imported documents with a password have the password input once but then the protection is lost.
    It would be nice to have an option (tickbox) to password protect the excel workbook if any document are imported with a password.
