template sharing user to user
sharing templates user to user on clients (document matching and form extractions) without putting them as company templates which we do not want to do as we have thousands of users that have specific needs to each of their clients and team members must have ability to have templates created by one user be transferrable to another instead of the big waste of time of having each user have to recreate the template from scratch when the work is reassigned on a client staff. This is important and we were told will be addressed in v5.1 in 2023 yet we just learned that DS did not address as other customers did not seem to ask for this? please vote up if you are having same pain point.

Completely agree with this user. We are a larger firm and utilizing templates is really where the ROI and efficiency of DataSnipper is sold. While there may be commonality in some client reports if they use the same ERP, tweaks are inevitably made to their reporting modules and obviously invoices are formatted differently across all organizations, which means unique templates for each client. In addition, due to our industry and scheduling, there is a high likelihood that our staff will not be working on the same engagement the next year. If we have to house all templates in Company templates, there would be thousands of templates and the organization of the templates will become unmanageable. A more practical solution is to allow our teams to download templates and save them as part of our engagement team binder or on client specific shared drives so that a user next year can just import them straight from there. Until this issue is addressed, the return on investment of the template feature, and DataSnipper as a whole, is severely diminished.

For both Form Extraction and Document Matching, templates can be saved as .xml files to be uploaded as Company Templates. Allowing users to upload .xml files to their "My Templates" section would be very helpful if there are specific modifications made to a general Company Template that may only be applicable to a smaller number of users or teams.

Allowing templates to be shared with a subset of users (or be embedded within an excel file) so that engagement teams can access useful templates for a client without all users in the organization accessing that template.

It would be valuable if templates in Form Extraction and Document Matching can be shared between users for cross-referencing and multiple checks before published in company templates.
