  1. Now you can only see a few characters and not the full name of documents in the viewer. It would be nice to see the full name of documents or change the size of the window so that the full name is visible.

  2. Document Matching linking for exceptions. i.e. search for the date and, even if it finds the incorrect date, it should link to the date identified and flag this as either correct or incorrect. This is different to rounding but rather incorporating the Advanced Extraction idea to know which field to reconcile.

  3. Allow dynamic input columns when using document matching templates. i.e. column C is the input selected in the template. If a column is added before column C then that input column changes from column C to D to ensure that the input to output remains aligned.

  4. It would be nice to be able to mass delete folders. Let's say, for example, I have a template that I use and I have already deleted all prior imports into that template, it appears to me that the folders will remain. It would be nice to be able to remove all file imports and another option to be able to mass delete folders. Or be able to delete multiple folders at once.

  5. sharing templates user to user on clients (document matching and form extractions) without putting them as company templates which we do not want to do as we have thousands of users that have specific needs to each of their clients and team members must have ability to have templates created by one user be transferrable to another instead of the big waste of time of having each user have to recreate the template from scratch when the work is reassigned on a client staff. This is important and we were told will be addressed in v5.1 in 2023 yet we…

  8. Table snips is a great feature, but it would be nice if I could choose columns or rows that I want to exclude from a table snip - I know you can do this once the table snips is in Excel, but it would be nice if I could do this while working in the Table snip feature itself... for example, let's say I have a table with 7 columns, and I only want to bring over 3 of those seven columns into Excel. It would be nice if I could work within a Table snip and basically only bring…

  9. It would be very helpful if DataSnipper could essentially perform a VLOOKUP based on snipped data. For example, if a text snip or form extraction scrapes an employee's name from the sample supporting documentation, the tool would then automatically pull in the job title of the approver (based on a separate HR Excel listing that we can also import into DataSnipper), and input it into the cell in the adjacent column. The idea would be that as employee names are populated from the supporting documentation, the associated job title would be pulled in automatically (basically a VLOOKUP but native to…

  10. Quick way to insert workpaper reference in PDF

Request to implement a feature in DataSnipper where users can insert work paper references in PDF in easy and quick way (e.g. one-click of “ref insert” button).

To elaborate more on this use case:
For example, when conducting a balance confirmation as part of the audit procedures, all the information (amounts, etc.) stated in the confirmation letter (PDF) collected should be verified and linked to the relevant audit working papers. To keep a record of this linkage, it is required to include the workpaper reference near the applicable information (amounts, etc.) within…

This has been deferred (not planned for the next 6 months).

With DataSnippers baseline functionality the need to reference is bypassed. The supporting documents are embedded within the working paper directly and the snips create a direct link to the location on the supporting documents which is relevant for the work.

  11. When adding specific page numbers to snip tables from (in v6), certain tables which have less than 3 rows and columns are not extracted. Would like if all tables irrespective of the number of rows and columns are extracted.

  12. Quick/Mass Redact - when needing to redact long documents for identifying information it'd be nice to be able to redact info you know appears through out i.e. company name / reg number quickly. Currently searching for these in the top right to find all instances and then manually redacting each so on long documents with a lot of identifying info this is quite laborious

  14. Currently, there is only an option to have a key exactly match the text character for character. There should be an option to have keys which follow a similar pattern. For example, a backslash followed by four numbers. So instead of the key being "/2023", it would be "/####" and would pick up all lines whether it says /2022, /2023, or /2024.

  16. Eng: In the case of a detailed check where many errors (difference between A and B) occur, it would be useful if an export of the differences could be made at the push of a button. This could include the data source (checked) and the documents (e.g. invoice/price agreement from the customer) and make it clear what the difference is and what has been compared. This is to be shared with the customer and to ask for an explanation for this. One step further, it would be nice if datasnip automatically sends an email (or text) with what has been…

  18. Automatically compressing documents on import. Default or optional setting. Perhaps a pop up when threashold is reached giving you the option to compress then. Clients cannot easily find or even know that compressing is an option

  19. OCR currently overwrites all computer generated text, sometimes with worse results. OCR may be required if a portion of the document contains computer generated text but a portion does not. In these instances it would be ideal to only run use the OCR to recognize the text that is not yet included in the text layer of the file.

  20. For document matching, when there is no exact match (f.e. when fuzzy text match or a threshold is enabled), it would be nice if the output would somehow indicate that there is no exact match. For example by giving the snips that do not have an exact match, a different colour.
