Run OCR only for the portions of that document which do not contain computer generated text
OCR currently overwrites all computer generated text, sometimes with worse results. OCR may be required if a portion of the document contains computer generated text but a portion does not. In these instances it would be ideal to only run use the OCR to recognize the text that is not yet included in the text layer of the file.

Make Applying Redact Text More Intuitive
Applying redact text can be more intuitive. A pop up window should appear after creating the redacted box asking the user if they want to apply it. Right clicking isn't obvious.

Dash to Zero Conversion
Is it feasible to implement an automatic dash-to-zero conversion for numerical data extracted from tables? By identifying tables with primarily numerical values, the system could infer that dashes represent zeros and replace them accordingly. This feature would enhance user experience, especially when dealing with large datasets

Microsoft Teams/Sharepoint Issue
Hello,
Our company has experienced issues accessing DataSnipper files through Microsoft Teams/SharePoint/Office 365. Only when we sync the Team's channel to our individual computer we are able to access the files correctly. This was not an issue previously, so I am not sure if this is due to any new updates by Microsoft Teams, or any incompatibilities between DataSnipper and Microsoft.
Thank you

Snipping tool (including process capture)
Include a standard snipping tool (like Microsoft's snipping tool) which can be used to snip documents and import directly into excel. Ideally the snip can also be a visual placeholder (before importing) to allow visual review.
In addition, having the ability to record action steps on a computer with clear points of reference for process capturing.

Indicate when there is no exact match
For document matching, when there is no exact match (f.e. when fuzzy text match or a threshold is enabled), it would be nice if the output would somehow indicate that there is no exact match. For example by giving the snips that do not have an exact match, a different colour.

Updating signs within sum snip
It would be nice if the sum snip would retain the initial sign adjustments when an additional item is added in. Currently if you have a (500+400-100) and then add in a +200, the -100 reverts to a plus 100.

Force Match to row in table
Document Matching has the option to force match to a row in a table. This is a great option to ensure accurate results but is overly reliant on DataSnippers table identification which often gets the rows incorrect.
To account for this maybe there can be a threshold to force match to a row within x row deviation.

Search should not cover snips
Search (yellow highlight) covers snip results. This makes it difficult to view snip results in some instances.
In addition, search shows entire rows and not the exact search match.

Template Descriptions
Users are only able to see the first ~100 characters of a company template description. Is it possible to add a hover over feature that allows users to see the full detail?

Document Match only find the correct sign of a value
I have noticed that document matching seems to match both positive and negative instances of a number. It would be nice if it prefers / requires an exact match taking into account the sign and only refers the the inverse sign as a secondary check.

Validation Snip Not Impacting Formatting of Current Text in Cell
Validation snip should not impact the formatting of current text in the cell when validate snipping in that cell.
Example being a date in current cell is validated with support and then it changes the date to be "General" formatting instead of "Short Date" formatting. Time loss having to redo formatting.

DataSnipper imported documents checking feature
Before archiving workpapers in the audit file, the end-user might be required to remove any imported documents using DataSnipper. The necessity of removing documents is dependent on the firms documentation requirements.
Currently it is time-consuming to go through all the excel workbooks and remove imported documents. Can a feature be developed which
1. identifies workbooks in a selected folder that have Imported Documents
2. Provides an option for the end-user to bulk remove imported documents13 votes -
Preference setting to choose viewing option
I would like to suggest a setting that would allow a person to change their excel options for their viewer preference. Myself, I almost always work with the viewer in another window, since it can take up a lot of space in a large excel sheet. Having a spot where a person could set it to automatically go there every time I create or open a file would be a very nice option.

Mass delete folders
It would be nice to be able to mass delete folders. Let's say, for example, I have a template that I use and I have already deleted all prior imports into that template, it appears to me that the folders will remain. It would be nice to be able to remove all file imports and another option to be able to mass delete folders. Or be able to delete multiple folders at once.

Consistency in decimal recognition
DS should make use of the standard method of decimal identification and apply that to all numbers within a document.
i.e. 8,930.15: ","is a thousand separator while "." is a decimal separator. If this is the standard for all numbers in a document, then a number presented as 45.118 should be read with "." as a decimal separator (not a thousand separator).

Capture Checkbox Statuses as True/False Parameters in DataSnipper
Currently, DataSnipper lacks the functionality to automatically recognize and capture the status of checkboxes within documents. The proposed feature aims to enable DataSnipper to identify checkboxes and classify them as 'True' for checked boxes and 'False' for unchecked ones. This capability would significantly streamline the process of analyzing forms and checklists, reducing manual data entry and increasing accuracy. The addition of this feature would enhance DataSnipper's utility in processing a wider range of document types, particularly those commonly used in surveys, applications, and various compliance forms

Form extraction for specific pages
It'd be nice if I could designate which pages within a large PDF I want form extraction to be applied... let's say I have a 100 page PDF but I only want to perform some form of form extraction on 20 of those pages and they are dispersed throughout the 100 pages, it would be nice to set up the form extraction and then say, go apply this to pages 2-5, 7-11, 19-31, and so on and so. Thanks!
