    Drag files to import is available in the Document Organizer. This is a drag functionality from local storage however the drag functionality from other locations would require further integrations to be built. Integrations are in research. If you have a specific platform that you would like to drag files into DataSnipper from, please let us know so that we can investigate further.

  2. Amend the DM algorithm to prioritize matches based on a logical understanding of the documents as opposed to simply limiting the distance between snips. i.e. DM should know to extract the value from the numbers in the document, not at the end of the tax identification number.

  3. Rework UX for selecting sample data even if it is not directly used in a document matching test. If I select an input field not used in the test then get to step 3, I have to go back to step 1 to rework all the settings. Rather allow the selection of ‘no output’.

  4. Allow templates to be used on a current tab in excel so that only the output is templated (added).

    That allows dynamic inputs to be built in the excel and then a template to be selected which will output a standard output section (headers and columns expected to test).

  6. Currently it is possible to store documents in sharepoint and not include them in the excel document however this process is not verry clear. It would be great if there was a better worflow to take users through the process of referancing sharepoint files.

  7. It would be helpful if you could enter which exchange rate Datasnipper should use and then convert and match the values yourself. For example, we receive reporting packages in foreign currencies and the exchange rates used in each case. If you want to check the conversion, you have to do this manually. Datasnipper could automate this.

  8. Financial statements extraction model similar to invoice extraction or contract extraction already available.

    If the model could be trained to pull out statutory information like who signed & the date i.e. for the audit report / strategic report / Balance sheet; other useful statutory information would be things like accounting standards prepared under and who the ultimate controlling party is etc.

    As well as other standard numerical info such as turnover, debtors, creditors, bank, employee numbers, etc.

  9. Working with signatures and verifying that a document is signed is always a key part of audit procedures however given that there is a mix of wet and e-signatures it can be complicated to actually understand if your document has been validated.

    Signatures are never recognised by OCR given their "hieroglyphic" nature and therefore it is difficult for automated systems to recognise them.

    With the signature snip, users could perform multiple actions:

    • Apply an esignature to a document.
    • Verify a wet signature for IPE purposes
    • Check that an esignature is included.

  10. Set key behaviour to help more accurately get it right automatically i.e. search left or above etc, a lot of forms the key wanted its directly left or above so if this could be set then when creating extractions with a lot of fields it would speed things up tremendously

  11. It would be nice to have the feature to remove all Files/Documents without snips not only all pages without snips. So the documents with snips stay in excel as a whole and the the documents not needed can be deleted easily

    The functionality is currently achievable via the Document Organizer. Sort all documents by snips, select documents without snips and remove.


    Upcoming UI improvements will hopefully make this even easier.

    A current solution would be to extract both lists into excel and then perform the analysis using excel functionality.

  14. It would be great if it was possible to perform sort through Excel functionality on snips inserted into Excel without messing up the DataSnipper links to the documnet.

  15. Quick way to insert workpaper reference in PDF

    Request to implement a feature in DataSnipper where users can insert work paper references in PDF in easy and quick way (e.g. one-click of “ref insert” button).

    To elaborate more on this use case:
    For example, when conducting a balance confirmation as part of the audit procedures, all the information (amounts, etc.) stated in the confirmation letter (PDF) collected should be verified and linked to the relevant audit working papers. To keep a record of this linkage, it is required to include the workpaper reference near the applicable information (amounts, etc.) within…

    With DataSnippers baseline functionality the need to reference is bypassed. The supporting documents are embedded within the working paper directly and the snips create a direct link to the location on the supporting documents which is relevant for the work.

  16. Allow inverse direction of work. So instead of extracting data from PDF to excel, populate a form with data from excel.

  18. Add a translate Snip function. We often get documents in Spanish, so it would be handy to be able to Snip the Spanish comments and have it translated into English for our working paper.

    Would you be able to assist us in further investigating this option:

    1. How often you are receiving and working with documents not in the local language where translation is needed?
    2. How do you currently work with these documents?
    3. Is the hope to use the translated documents as the 'original' supporting evidence (i.e. snip the translated text) or simply translate for understanding (i.e. still snip the original language)
