multiple keys for dynamic form sections
Lots of orders & invoices we'd like to use form extraction against fall down when the documents middle section can change sizes and the bottom part moves with it, so commonly where there's a breakdown of costs and then the total is summarised.
If we could set multiple keys to determine the start and end point to extract from that would alleviate this issue since the bottom bit is a fixed layout but moves with the section above and the start of the above section don't move then it should work nicely

Improve user interface for "include PDFs in excel"
Currently it is possible to store documents in sharepoint and not include them in the excel document however this process is not verry clear. It would be great if there was a better worflow to take users through the process of referancing sharepoint files.

Consideration of exchange rates in document matching.
It would be helpful if you could enter which exchange rate Datasnipper should use and then convert and match the values yourself. For example, we receive reporting packages in foreign currencies and the exchange rates used in each case. If you want to check the conversion, you have to do this manually. Datasnipper could automate this.

Signature Snip
Working with signatures and verifying that a document is signed is always a key part of audit procedures however given that there is a mix of wet and e-signatures it can be complicated to actually understand if your document has been validated.
Signatures are never recognised by OCR given their "hieroglyphic" nature and therefore it is difficult for automated systems to recognise them.
With the signature snip, users could perform multiple actions:
- Apply an esignature to a document.
- Verify a wet signature for IPE purposes
- Check that an esignature is included.

Organize folders in the organizer
When multiple folders are created, these can be hard to navigate through. Maybe add the function of sorting in alphabetical order or search for folder names

Allow undo to retain expected functionality
When a snip is added, all prior work is "forgotten" so that undo can only undo the last snip. Any previous work can therefore not be undone.
I lose the ability to undo the last few adjustments made as soon as I apply a snip.
The suggestion is to allow the "undo" function to operate as standard so that all previous actions can be undone.

Write to PDF
Allow inverse direction of work. So instead of extracting data from PDF to excel, populate a form with data from excel.

Add "conditions" to Document Matching
I was using DM the other day to compare cash payments that were summarized in an Excel file to bank statements that were provided to me by the client. I didn't have any data in the Excel file other than (1) a hardcoded date and (2) the amount that I was told was paid. I was attempting to match the amount paid from the Excel file to the bank statement (which I was able to do with a very high success rate). Auto name extraction by key / snip to name
Set key behaviour to help more accurately get it right automatically i.e. search left or above etc, a lot of forms the key wanted its directly left or above so if this could be set then when creating extractions with a lot of fields it would speed things up tremendously

Ability to remove unreadale/corrupt files
Client feedback: Sometimes we have corrupted files that cannot be opened or removed, but still stays in the document list. I would like to remove them.

Internal audit client feedback: Sometimes when pasting screenshots into DS, there will be a conflict due to naming, or the previous screenshot will be replaced.

Add option to copy and paste without reference

When copying over tables with Snips in it, the reference is also copied over. And it was time consuming to remove the reference. (Client only wishes to copy the table format & functions, not the reference.)

Currently if you paste via the right click option you can achieve a paste without the snip.

List comparison
Compare 2 user lists to identify changes (new users added, users removed, changes in user roles). User list files are pdf, txt, excel.

A current solution would be to extract both lists into excel and then perform the analysis using excel functionality.

Sort snips in Excel
It would be great if it was possible to perform sort through Excel functionality on snips inserted into Excel without messing up the DataSnipper links to the documnet.

Multi-tab template
When creating a working paper it would be useful to be able to create a complex working with multiple document match tests spread across tabs (and within 1 tab).
Saving this template would then save the selected tabs so that, when the template is used, all of those tabs, formulae across tabs, and DM settings are auto created in the excel working paper.4 votes -
Journal Entry Clean Up Feature
I am wondering if it would be possible to come up with a feature to help with the "cleaning" of journal entries. This could include deleting reversing entries, adding/removing accounting adjustments, deleting entries of incorrect periods, etc.

Disable automatic datasnips search in documents
Recently, while using the program, I have noticed that it automatically searches for and retrieves snips of text from various documents. While this feature can be useful in most cases, it causes Excel crash very fast (even if imported documents are compresed). Therefore, I would greatly appreciate it if the automatic data snip search could be disabled by pressing an option button, similar to the calculation options in Excel.
22 votesMy apologies, the fix made was for the auto-enter into the search box.
The ask of this ticket to not actually search the documents in the background to save on processing power has not as yet been addressed but is planned for resolution.

Delete Files without Snips
It would be nice to have the feature to remove all Files/Documents without snips not only all pages without snips. So the documents with snips stay in excel as a whole and the the documents not needed can be deleted easily

The functionality is currently achievable via the Document Organizer. Sort all documents by snips, select documents without snips and remove.
Upcoming UI improvements will hopefully make this even easier.

Reference within table
Table snip creates 1 purple reference cell.
If this table is grouped, this leads to 1 reference to potentially a large volume of data (can span multiple pages).In order to navigate quickly within that dataset (for quality confirmation or other reasons), this requires a manual scroll or a search. Rather including more reference options to easily find the correct location within the table.
